Equipment

  • Large Dutch oven or deep pot
  • Wooden spoon
  • Tongs
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 jars marinara sauce 24 oz each
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 12 oz spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese optional for topping

Instructions

  • Add ground beef and chopped onion to a large Dutch oven or deep pot over medium heat.
  • Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, breaking the beef apart as it cooks.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
  • Add marinara sauce, oregano, salt, pepper, and chicken broth, then stir to combine.
  • Add the spaghetti noodles, breaking them in half if needed so they fit under the sauce.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring often as the noodles soften.
  • Uncover and simmer for a few extra minutes if needed until the sauce thickens and the pasta is tender.
  • Serve warm with Parmesan cheese on top if desired.

Notes

Storage: Store cooled One Pot Spaghetti in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
Reheating: Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of broth or water to loosen the sauce.
Freezing: Freeze portions for up to 2 months. The noodles may soften after thawing, but the flavor still works well for lunches.
Expert Tips: Stir the pasta often as it cooks so the noodles separate and the sauce does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
Variations: Add mushrooms, bell peppers, spinach, Italian sausage, red pepper flakes, or extra Parmesan for a different finish.
Serving Ideas: Serve with garlic bread, a green salad, roasted broccoli, or steamed green beans for a complete family dinner.
